September last year, Sony had a buzz marketing by giving away 350 unit of T70 at a very special price. The camera price started at RM 8.
Buzz marketing is a very efficient marketing technique because the Hype & PR value you get in return are so much more efficient than pure advertising in traditional medium.

This year, they are going with it again by giving away a handphone worth RM 1099 to first 10 T90 buyer in 30 retail shops around Malaysia. In total they are giving away 300 units nationwide. The buzz marketing is scattered to cover all states in Malaysia. Will everyone form a long queue in the selected 30 retail store?

Well the verdict? The event well, all the 300 unit got sold instantly.

But a quick search in the Internet, no one mention about it.
How about the press? None too so far.
For this round, the hype is not properly plan. Don’t think it make any impact. Not much ppl know about the new launch. The only hype is perhaps around the walk in customer or the passing by customers. Well I think it is partly because of the limited budget they plan for this promotion.
